During Jim's sermon on Saturday night, he had all of us point into the air and then take our pointer finger and place it in our belly buttons and repeat the following phrase. "This is not the center of the universe." This exercise was meant to remind all of us that it is not about us. It is about God.
When we got into the car, I repeated the exercise Jim had put us through with Megan & Connor and then asked them to explain the purpose of the exercise. They both said that it was not about them - that they were not the center of attention.
Today is Mother's Day. This morning, Connor crawled into bed and snuggled up next to me and said, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy. I love you!" He told me that my first mother's day present was snuggling from him. It was great! A bit later, he took my hand and placed my finger in my belly button and said, "Repeat after me. This is the center of the home." Wow! He told me that I was the center of our home, not only today (mother's day) but everyday. It was a precious moment.
A bit later, my phone bleeped to let me know that I had received a text message. I picked up my phone to find a text message from Megan which said, "Happy Mother's Day!" That explains how my pre-teen daughter communicates these days. She rarely calls us or anyone. She texts. Just in case you are wondering, she texted me from her bedroom. At the time, I was in my bedroom, just outside her door.
I received two very different but equally precious Mother's Day wishes this morning from my little angels. Blake, Megan, Connor, and Megan L. took me to lunch at Gloria's this afternoon and then to Double Dip for frozen custard. It was a wonderful day with the ones that I love.

awwwww!!! How sweet is Connor?!?! Too cute. Megan reminds me of when I was in college and my roommate and I would IM each other instead of walking into the other room. :) Glad you had a great mother's day!
